KC- The Next Great Cocktail City


Paris of the PlainsPraised for bartending excellence and its "friendly, approachable vibe," the Chicago Tribune recently tapped KC as "America's Next Great Cocktail City." While the cocktail revolution here seems to be newly rising to prominence, it's really just a resurgence of the culture that developed here during KC's Prohibition-era, speakeasy years. The "proof" of the city's dedication to the spirits is the annual Paris of the Plains Cocktail Festival, a multi-day celebration of cocktails, food, history and culture in the Midwest.

Maybee Named 2013 Bartender of the Year

We wanted to congratulate Ryan Maybee on being named Bartender of the year in Imbibe's January/Februray Issue. After bringing The Manifesto back to life in 2011, 2012 has seen his true talent soar. His team at the Tales of the Cocktail Festival in New Orleans garnered him Yahoo's Coolest New Cocktails with his "Unbridled Julep". He also to Trinidad in February to represent North America in the 2012 Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge.
